Spazstatic: @zupobaloop that concept just sounds wrong. It's interesting though. Law is weird.
zupobaloop: @ChubbyBuddy @Spazstatic It's because, like all non-profits, they are incorporated. They have bylaws, boards, etc. Different religious traditions will rename them (councils, vestrees, elders) but it's legally the same as a board of trustees.
Prostata: dont even get me started
Spazstatic: @ChubbyBuddy pardon my ignorance, I don't take part in either.
 ChubbyBuddy: @Spazstatic religion /is/ a business
Spazstatic: I didn't know churches had "a board of trustees". I thought that was a business thing, not a religious one.

Ulillillia: Never heard of them until today. After watching some videos I'd say they're more like the Mini Pops for adults.
becca: @a robot lmao, that would drive me INSANE
a robot: At my workplace last year we received a corporate display for Ricola cough drops that had a motion sensor and a little speaker so any time someone walked by, it would play a clip of Pentatonix singing "Riiiiicollaaaaaaa." It was some tie-in where you could win a trip to their concert or some shit. My coworkers hated the thing and kept covering up the sensor with tape, and I kept taking it off to annoy them. This is the only reason I know who Pentatonix are.
